Designer & Entrepreneur

Steven Schenck

I am not simply interested in new products. I am interested in why some ideas move people, why brands become relevant, and how a vision becomes a functioning business.

I work at the intersection of entrepreneurship, design and technology. I rarely think in isolated products, but in systems: from the first idea through product and business model to brand, communication and the experience that ultimately reaches people.

Entrepreneurship, design and technology

To me, design means far more than aesthetics — and it does not end with physical products.

Whether a piece of furniture, a digital product or software: good design must be understandable. It should provide orientation, reduce complexity and make things feel intuitive and natural to use.

To me, logical thinking and visuality are inseparable. No matter how technologically capable an application may be, if people do not intuitively understand how it works, I do not consider it truly well designed.

That is why I engage as deeply with proportions, materials and typography as I do with user guidance, interfaces, processes and the question of how complex technology can become a simple experience.

Design is not decoration to me. Design is part of the function.

I like to question what already exists. Not because everything has to be different, but because I want to know whether it could be simpler, more beautiful or more intelligent.

New technologies, especially artificial intelligence, open possibilities that were unthinkable only a few years ago. I am less fascinated by the technology itself than by what can be created with it — and how complex technology can be designed to offer people genuine value.

My strength lies in recognising connections early, bringing different disciplines together and developing a concrete product vision from an initially abstract idea.

I set high standards, especially for my own ideas. I question, discard, change and, if necessary, start again when the result is not yet convincing.

I want to create meaningful things that offer genuine value — and that people remember.
